چکیده

In this paper, we propose Plane Wave Elastography (PWE), a novel ultrasound shear wave elastography (SWE) approach. Currently, commercial methods for SWE rely on directional filtering based the prior knowledge of propagation direction, to remove complicated patterns formed due reflection and refraction. The result is set decomposed waves that are separately analyzed construct modulus fields then combined through compounding. Instead, PWE relies rigorous representation using frequency-domain scalar equation automatically select appropriate directions simultaneously reconstruct fields. Specifically, assuming homogeneous, isotropic, incompressible, linear-elastic medium, represent solution linear combination plane propagating in arbitrary directions. Given closed-form solution, formulate problem as nonlinear least-squares optimization which can be solved very efficiently. Through numerous phantom studies, show handle waveforms without competitive with state-of-the-art requires

Measuring shear-wave speed with point shear-wave elastography and MR elastography: a phantom study

OBJECTIVES To compare shear-wave speed (SWS) measured by ultrasound-based point shear-wave elastography (pSWE) and MR elastography (MRE) on phantoms with a known shear modulus, and to assess method validity and variability. METHODS 5 homogeneous phantoms of different stiffnesses were made. Shear modulus was measured by a rheometer, and this value was used as the standard. 10 SWS measurements ...

Cardiac Shear Wave Elastography Using a Clinical Ultrasound System.

The propagation velocity of shear waves relates to tissue stiffness. We prove that a regular clinical cardiac ultrasound system can determine shear wave velocity with a conventional unmodified tissue Doppler imaging (TDI) application. The investigation was performed on five tissue phantoms with different stiffness using a research platform capable of inducing and tracking shear waves and a clin...

3D Quasi-Static Ultrasound Elastography With Plane Wave In Vivo

In biological tissue, an increase in elasticity is often a marker of abnormalities. Techniques such as quasi-static ultrasound elastography have been developed to assess the strain distribution in soft tissues in two dimensions using a quasi-static compression. However, as abnormalities can exhibit very heterogeneous shapes, a three dimensional approach would be necessary to accurately measure ...

Three dimensional shear wave scattering MR elastography

Introduction: Magnetic resonance elastography (MRE) is a non invasive method that combines externally applied vibrations with the motion sensitivity of MRI to measure the shear elasticity soft tissues [1]. In MRE this is traditionally achieved by solving an inverse problem with MRE shear wave images as input data [2]. A complementary approach, which does not require the solution of an inverse p...
